First off, congratulations on your stunning new branding! 🎉 If you’re like many of my clients, you’ve just received your beautifully designed brand elements, and your first thought might be, “I love it so much! Now what??” Don’t worry—I’m here to guide you through the next steps and help you make the most of your fresh brand identity.
1. Update Your Digital Presence
Your new branding is like a shiny new outfit for your business—it needs to be seen! Start by updating your digital spaces:
- Website: Ensure your logo, color palette, fonts, and any other brand elements are updated across your site. This includes your homepage, about page, and even the smallest details like button colors and fonts. (CLCC clients – don’t worry, I do all of this for you during Website in a Day or with a custom site!)
- Social Media: Update your profile pictures, cover photos, and any highlights or pinned posts. Consistency is key here, so make sure your new branding is reflected across all platforms.
- Email Signature: Your email signature is often an overlooked space, but it’s an excellent opportunity to reinforce your brand. Update it with your new logo and brand colors.
- Brand Kit: One of the easiest ways to ensure your branding is consistent across all your designs is by setting up your Brand Kit in Canva. Upload your logos (make sure to use SVG files so you can easily resize and recolor them), add your brand colors, and select your brand fonts. This way, every time you create a new design in Canva, you’ll have all your brand elements ready to go, making it effortless to keep everything on-brand.
2. Get Creative with Your New Branding
Now that the essentials are covered, let’s have some fun! Your new branding can (and should!) go beyond just your website and social media profiles:
- Printed Materials: Think business cards, brochures, flyers, or even stickers. If you attend events, these tangible items are a great way to showcase your new look.
- Packaging: If you sell physical products, consider updating your packaging. Custom labels, boxes, or even thank-you cards can create a memorable experience for your customers.
- Merchandise: Depending on your business, branded merchandise like tote bags, mugs, or notebooks can be a fun and practical way to spread your brand.
- Events: If you’re in the events industry, use your new branding for signage, event programs, or even branded backdrops.
3. Why Making the Shift Is Crucial
Consistency is key in branding. When your branding is consistent across all touchpoints, it builds trust and recognition with your audience. Think of it as speaking the same language everywhere you go—your clients will start to associate certain colors, fonts, and logos with your business, making you instantly recognizable.
Moreover, when your brand is fresh and cohesive, it’s easier to attract your ideal clients. Your branding is a reflection of your business’s personality, so when it aligns with the type of clients you want to attract, you’re more likely to draw them in.
4. Don’t Forget the Little Things
It’s easy to overlook some of the smaller details, but they’re just as important in maintaining a consistent brand:
- Invoicing Software: Update your invoices to reflect your new branding.
- Contracts and Proposals: Any client-facing documents should have your new logo, fonts, and colors. (For custom branded invoices, contracts and proposals, I love Honeybook!)
- Presentations: Whether it’s a client presentation or an internal meeting, make sure your slides are branded.
- Marketing Emails: Send any kind of newsletter or update email to your past clients? Yep, that should be updated too! (I love using Flodesk for easy brand implementation!)
